How Can I Become A Fighter Pilot? Marines, Navy, Usaf, I Like All The Services. I Just Want To Fly.?

I’ve done my fare share of research and I haven’t really been able to find a solid answer. Now just a few facts about myself:
1) I’m not the best student mainly because I’m lazy. I have my senior year to change all that. I know I’m smart, so I’m going to stop being lazy, this is something I really want to do.
2)I’m in good physical health, and mental health. I never really get in trouble, and I stay away from drugs/alcoholo/smoking
3) I Wrestle. I heard some of the academies have Wrestling teams, but my grades aren’t top notched so I don’t know about that.
It’d be really nice if I could get a good answer that’d tell me everything I need to know. Need all the cold hard facts.
Thanks!!

  1. Step one, talk to a recruiter. I’d say that you do need good marks, being lazy does not help. You can not just say I’m lazy in school, but will be good for other things.
I’m from Canada and when I was in University, I did meet Officer Candidates that were going to be pilots. They needed a university education, (Paid for from officers training school). It’s a hard program. My advice is start now to buckle down and start getting the good grades, start doing a lot of extracurricular activities (It looks good).

  2. Well, it seems like you waited a little too long if your grades arent good. then again if by bad grades you mean A- you may be fine.

  3. Pilot slots are the most competitive jobs in the service. Here are a few things, you need to do to get started.
    1) Get a good vision test from an eye doctor. Tell him you are interested in becoming a military pilot. Most pilot candidates are nixed on the eye test.
    2) Avoid anything that has hard blows to the head, your wrestling could screw you up there.
    3) Talk to a recruiter. They have a lot of data to help you out.
    4) Apply to a college or a military academy. All pilots, except helicopter pilots need to be officers.
    Good luck and wings up!
