Help Me With Binge Eating Disorder?
I’ve had an eating disorder for over two years. As a HS senior, I was nearly anorexic, but now I am totally opposite of that…I have binge eating disorder. I work out so much to try to lose all the weight I put on from binging, and now that I’m in college it makes life so difficult to deal with. I’ve gained 20 pounds and my health is really dwindling, along with my self esteem. Is there anyone who has experience with this and can help me via e-mail? I’m really looking for a weight loss buddy who I can keep in touch with for support and encouragement. It would really mean the world to me.
I know how u feel. I was a lil chubby freshman year so I decided to go on a diet. I lost weight the healthy way and I lost 40 pounds, but I got so obsessed with my weight loss I started purging. I felt so deprived from all good foods that I decided to eat a lot, and then throw it up. I actually ended up gaining back 30 pounds because of this. Now I throw up, but not every day..maybe 3 times a week. I’m a senior this year, and I want to be happy with my image before I go to college. I want a new start, and I want to have a high self esteem before I go somewhere new. If u want to talk..we can try to help out eachother.
Okay, 1st off the average freshmen in college does gain approx. 20lbs. It’s the adjustment period from homecooking to damn near take out everyday. 2nd what are your binging foods, I’m assuming thing like sweets or high starch foods. Here’s my suggest: you can have 1 binge day a week where you can have anything you want ( of course it has to be the same day every week). You can also get a support buddy or start your own support group at school because trust me all women care about their figure or at least about gainig that 1st 20lbs in freshmen year so I’m quite sure you are not alone. If that’s not an option see if your roommate, best friend, sister or another club member is available to help you as a coach or support system. If all else fails there should be counselors on campus or you can see your own off campus as well as a nutrritionist and gym trainer. Or simply participate in high endurance sport like soccer, racquet ball, kickboxing etc.
my mom had an eating disorder when she was a child and from that it made it so she cant lose anymore weight now.
it totally messed her up.
so eat fine and take care of your self
I suffered from bulimia for nearly 20 years and didn’t realize it until I was outed by a good friend. Getting a buddy is a double edged sword because you either end up helping each other or feed off of each other (pun unintented). I suggest you see a counsellor or someone that can help you. Your problem isn’t related to weight loss. Its all about self-esteem and how THAT is tied to how much you weigh. Good luck.
The best advice I can give you is to either see a counselour or try and keep your mind off of your weight and do some fun activities, such as having a girls night out with some friends or just going to the mall!
