However, taking AP Biology will give you a head start on your biology education for college. By taking AP Bio, you will be able to see if this is the field you really want to go into in college. Additionally, if you score high enough on the AP Biology exam, you may be able to get out of a biology class in college. Often times, however, the colleges require--despite AP credits--you to take one of their freshmen biology courses if that is indeed your major. None the less, taking AP Bio will show you what to expect in college, and if this is really right for you! Even if you decide Biology isn't right for you, AP Biology is an amazing class and an enriching experience. You don't have to be a prospective biology major to enjoy it! Good luck! Of course not! AP Biology will only count for college credit if you take the AP test and score a four or five, I believe. As mentioned in the previous person's comment, many colleges will still make you take a biology class at their school, or, an example from a problem I am facing now, pay for credits earned by an AP test. The New Visions Program sounds like it will give you a much more hands-on, well-rounded education in health-related careers. If you can get accepted to the program, colleges and pharmacy schools would probably look more highly on a specialized, health-fields program, like the NVP, than a good grade in AP Biology. Besides, you might even find a health career you enjoy more than pharmacist. The NVP will give you more options in this respect. I don't believe that AP Biology will be able to get you as far ahead as the NVP would. This is just my opinion, however, feel free to discount it and make your own decisions about your future.
