Are Illigal Imigrants The Main Reason For Callifornia’s Budget Crisis?

I am aware of how many cuts are being made including health care for seniors, education cut back and dropped programs, and more patients per nurse in hospitals. We have bad roads and a tremendous amount of paroled prisoners.
Is the state in a budget crisis mostly becasue of illegal aliens and criminals?
I read under 20 billion goes to illegal imigrant felonys and another ten for health care for illegals.

  1. In a nutshell, yes. The illegal immigrants don’t pay taxes and the law enforcement that polices them require money that doesn’t get replaced. Plus all the other government programs, Public schooling, ambulances, fire department and many other things.

  2. No, I don’t think illegal immigrants are a major part of it. Illegal immigrants are, by state law, not eligible for any type of welfare except humanitarian health care in emergencies. Furthermore, the low-cost labor they provide for the economy more than offsets any costs to the state. I know there are a lot of anti-immigrant groups out there that will tell you all this stuff, but they are pretty much racists. Note that when we had waves of immigrants from Europe in the early part of the century, no one said anything.

  3. I think they are part of it because some don’t pay taxes or things that everyone needs to pay, such as homeless people. Everyone has a part in this crisis, so EVERYONE should take blame. This world should work together instead of distribute the blame for their own mistakes.

  4. the money they make the send home to mexico and like 12 people share the same house it’s def. not boosting the economy
