Cancer is uncontrolled, unregulated growth of any type of cell in the body. Certain substances know as carcinogens are known to increase the risk of getting cancer. There are many know carcinogens in cigarette smoke, so each time a smoker inhales, they are inhaling all of these toxic, damaging agents. The carcinogens in cigarette smoke damage a cells DNA, or the blueprint for the cell, and when there are errors in the DNA sequence or blueprint, a cell can divide out of control, Cancer. A cure is tricky. Chemotherapy, or treating cancer with drugs designed to interrupt the replication of the cancer cell works, but it also attacks the healthy cells of the body. Chemo is designed to attack cells that replicate quickly, and cancer cells are not the only type that do this. Cells lining the gastrointestinal tract and hair follicles also divide quickly, that’s why someone on chemo develops lesions in the mouth and loses their hair. Scientists need to divise a way of killing the cancer cells, while leaving healthy cells alone.
Cancer is…erm…I’m not really sure what the exact definition is. I know you can get a higher risk of lung cancer by smoking because you blacken your lungs and…that attracts cancer? Or something like that.
Cancer is a kind of uncontrolled growth. Cancer cells grow and multiply ignoring the bodies warning telling them to stop.
I think that smoke contains an ingredient which is said to increase the risk of this happening.
The easy answer to this is your cells need oxygen, and smoking tars up your oxygen in-take.
There are much more complicated answers, like the fact that you irritate certain parts of your lung DNA, causing your lung cells to go crazy and rebel against your body.
I am a non smoker..I have all the counts of a smoker in my blood. At Nizam hospital in Hyd, back in 1996, the Dr says I am bluffing my way..as a non smoker. He failed to believe and gave a big sermon. On anybody I can promise..I have smoked enough..as a passive smoker..anybody remember me with the qn of farting on other’s face , a month ago…
So irritated I am.Hey! smoker’s ..catch up puffing again.
Some people are going to get cancer whether they smoke or not, There is way to much false info out there to try and scare people to quit smoking.. BTW, I have been smoking for 30 years and my lungs are not black, they are pretty darn healthy actually..
There is no cure for cancer because they do not know what causes it. There is 1 type of cancer in women that is caused from a virus. But they still can’t cure it.
