My Mother Died Of Stomach Cancer, So What Are The Steps I Should Take To Protect Myself From Cancer?
I read the symptoms and treatments on WebMD, but what i want to know is what the odds are that I would get cancer too.
My mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer in its late stages, and lasted only 2 painful months. I would definitely like to avoid that with some preventative measures.
I will stay away from carcinogens (nitrates such as smoked/burned foods), but who do i turn to for a checkup or if i feel that symptoms of stomach cancer is showing?
Unfortunately nobody knows what causes most cancers.
Most, however, are random with only a small proportion being due to hereditary factors.
I’m sorry to hear about your mother. My mother too died of stomach cancer; her six children are now all in their 40s and 50s and only one (me) has had cancer, and that was random, like most cancers, and unconnected to my mother’s cancer.
There are no foods proven to prevent cancer or affect its progress in any way – people recommending foods, diets or ‘alternatives’ (which in this context means unproven) have invariably never had cancer.
Someone has mentioned apricot kernels and Lorraine Day, and as both these approaches to cancer are dangerous, I’m posting these links to some facts about them:http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRela…http://www.quackwatch.org/search/webglim…
To help prevent cancer
juices (fresh not store bought)
organic fruit and veggies
75% raw
apricot kernels have a high B17 content
cut out the meat
cut out processed foods (junk fried chips etc)
There is a site, a woman who used to be a doctor and sells videos that have the perfect diet. She walks you through it. She had cancer herself and beat it.
stomach cancer have high percentage among people who eat raw sea food , and high salt food content , low fruits intake , and people who get infected with H.pylori Bacterium . A balanced food is the 1st protective measurement.
check up is done according to lab tests and endoscopy
In the first place,I’m very sorry about your mother.I lost my mom to cancer also.I know how you must feel.Get regular check-ups.You are wise to stay away from carcinogens but unfortunately not everyone knows where all the carcinogens are.One place that people may not even realize that there are cancer causing agents is in common everyday household cleaners.Things that should be safe to use which are most definitely not. Also, cosmetics, that’s another source. It’s one very good reason to go green. To get away from all those chemicals.

You could do yearly check up with your doctor and then talk to him about what you could do to help yourself with that. My mom died of colon cancer a few years ago and that is something my doctor wants to keep on check and make sure it doesn’t happen to me.
