I don’t think either side has a corner on rationality. The libs are correct when they say we should look after the environment, and the conservatives are right when they recommend fiscal restraint and support for traditional values.

Liberalism DEMANDS that we PRETEND that “little old ladies” are just as possible to be terrorists at an airport than middle-eastern males.
Liberalism DEMANDS that we PRETEND that people (blacks in this example) who drop out of high school at disproportional rates, are somehow a sign of “society’s racism” when these people can find good-paying jobs.
